Poor little guy

Chicago Tribune Staff report 9:01 a.m. CST, February 28, 2014 A young boy was found alone outside, without a coat or shoes in single-digit cold, in the Avalon Park neighborhood on the South Side late Thursday night. Police initially could not identify the boy, believed to be 3 or 4, and distributed his photograph to news media early this morning in hopes of locating relatives. Family members were located shortly afterward, and authorities were trying to determine how he came to be alone and underdressed in the bitter cold. The boy was found about 11:50 p.m. at the corner of East 82nd Street and South Avalon Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department. The temperature was 6 degrees in the city around that time. He was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital and was listed in good condition. He is in the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
